The Oura Ring 4 Is on Sale for the First Time Ever During Prime Day

The latest version of the Oura ring, the Oura Ring 4, is on sale today for Amazon’s Prime Day for as little as $297. This model launched last fall and has never been on sale since then. Today, all colors are 15% off if you buy them from Amazon. 

The Oura Ring 4 is an excellent tracker for sleep and for basic health data like HRV. You can read my review here. It bills itself as an all-around fitness tracker, although I found that it’s lackluster in some areas, like activity tracking—it’s just not built for the same kinds of fitness functions as a Garmin or even a Fitbit. You also can’t really wear it while you lift weights. 

That said, I find the Oura ring handy enough for tracking, and it’s comfortable enough to basically ignore—I’m basically always wearing one. You can read my four-year lookback here. The ring tracks trends in my sleep and recovery data, and is the most convenient and low-maintenance wearable I’ve ever worn. 

Today, every color of the Oura ring 4 is 15% off. That means: 

Black and silver are $297 (normally $349)

Brushed silver and matte black are $339 (normally $399)

Gold and rose gold are $424 (normally $499)

To buy an Oura ring, you’ll need to know your size. Sizing kits are available from Amazon as well, but if you want to know your size quickly, here’s a tip: Best Buy stores have in-store sizers. If you have a friend who owns (or considered purchasing) an Oura Ring 4, you could also ask to use their old sizing kit. Be aware that gen 3 sizing kits do not work with the Oura Ring 4. The internal shape of the ring changed between versions, which affected sizing. 

Also: be aware that, to use your Oura ring, you’ll also need to pay for a $5.99/month subscription. Without the subscription, the attached app is useless, and the ring doesn’t really do anything without the app. So make sure to budget for that as well. 

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot have Prime Day competition sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.

Walmart’s Prime Day competition sale begins at midnight on July 8 and will include deals up to 50% off. It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+. 

Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.

Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own. It’s an especially good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
