iPads are a go-to markdown item during big sales events, frequently getting deals that retailers are a bit less likely to give to other Apple products (like iPhones). Labor Day is no different. Currently, every model of the Apple iPad is on sale, from the diminutive iPad Mini to the OLED-packing iPad Pro. If you’re due for an upgrade (I know I am), now’s a good time to pull the trigger.

The above models are all Apple’s most recent releases—the cheapest iPad starts at $300. If all you plan to do is browse, watch videos, read, or play light games, that should be enough for you—the A16 chip inside is a little old, but matches what’s inside an iPhone 14 Pro.

For $100 more, you can upgrade to an iPad Mini, which will mean less screen space (down from 11 inches on the base iPad to 8.3 inches on the Mini) but more portability. It also comes with an A17 Pro chip, the same as in the iPhone 15 Pro. That’ll also let you run Apple Intelligence, so if you care about AI, it might be worth the $400 overall cost.

As for upgrades that don’t shrink your screen, you’ve got two options. There’s the thin-and-light iPad Air, which runs a MacBook-level M3 chip. That’s a generation behind as far as Apple’s laptops go, but it’s still enough to blaze through demanding programs. There are also two size options at this tier, an 11-inch model and a 13-inch one. Pricing currently starts at $600, which will get you an 11-inch iPad Air with 128GB of storage.

Finally, there’s Apple’s most premium iPad, the iPad Pro. This has the same M4 chip as Apple’s current generation of MacBooks, and in a first for the company’s tablets, comes with an OLED screen. That’s great to ensure vivid viewing, and in a funny twist, this is also Apple’s thinnest iPad at the moment (despite the upgrades), actually beating out the Air. Like the Air, it comes in 11-inch and 13-inch models, with the cheapest one currently being an 11-inch version with 256GB of storage, starting at $896.31.
