This no-fuss streamer plugs straight into your TV’s HDMI port and pulls enough power to work on its own, without needing a wall outlet. That little detail makes it perfect for anyone short on outlets or tired of hiding another power brick behind their entertainment center.

Once it’s running, the appeal is really in the simplicity. Roku doesn’t drown you in recommendations the way Fire TV or Google TV do, notes this PCMag review. You get a clean home screen with big tiles that lead you straight to Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, or whatever else you’re paying for. If you’ve got an iPhone or Mac, AirPlay works seamlessly, so you can throw a video or playlist onto the screen without digging for a cable.
