If you’re shopping for a big-screen upgrade without stepping into premium-TV pricing, TCL’s QM6K Class 75-inch TV might be worth a look, especially now that it’s $797.99 on Amazon, down from its usual $999.99.
TCL has built a name for itself as a budget-friendly brand that still delivers good performance, and this model stays true to that. This is a 4K QLED TV with mini-LED backlighting, which helps with contrast and black levels. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG, so you’re covered for most HDR content. For gamers, the native 144Hz refresh rate, VRR, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro mean smoother motion and reduced screen tearing, with Game mode bringing input lag down to just 7.5ms, according to this PCMag review.
Design-wise, it’s about what you’d expect from a modern mid- to high-range set. The screen is practically all picture, with thin bezels on the sides and top and a subtle brushed metal strip along the bottom. You can set it up on wide or inward V-shaped legs, giving you some flexibility for smaller TV stands. All your connections are covered with four HDMI ports (two supporting 4K at 144Hz and one with eARC), two USB ports, Ethernet, optical audio, and antenna inputs. That said, the TCL 75QM6K does not come equipped with an ATSC 3.0 tuner for next-gen over-the-air broadcasts, if that’s a dealbreaker for you.
Google TV powers the smart interface of the 75QM6K, so you’ll get all major streaming apps (if you’re more of a niche viewer, check this niche streaming services roundup by our editors) plus Google Cast and Apple AirPlay support. It also has a built-in far-field mic for hands-free Google Assistant control, which you can disable. The included remote is simple but backlit for nighttime viewing and comes with direct-launch buttons for the usual streaming suspects like Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube. Overall, the 75QM6K is not the brightest panel, and its color range isn’t as wide as pricier sets. But for under $800, it’s a large-screen TV that handles everyday viewing, streaming, and gaming without much fuss, making it a solid value in its class.
